You file I864 with I 485 application. And you take a new I864 with all updated information at the time of interview. (You might will have some changes when the time will come for you interview.

Give any reson. You don't have to provide any evidence for that. I have given a reson that I want to see my family whom I haven't seen from 3 years.

Give them 5-6 months. That is what I have done. May or June will be too soon. I don't how long it takes them to process.

I think in instruction it says somewhere that if you are submitting less than 3 previous years tax returns, you should provide them some explaination. So you can provide a letter along with something from school ,

Hi mr needy,

I can tell you are very frustrated with filling out the forms and you are getting very confused and panicking what you need to do. But before asking any questions on this forum, you must know that you need to read the instructions very carefully.

I'm not trying to be harsh on you or rude to you. But before asking any questions, you need to read the instructions at least twice or three times. Then, still if you don't understand what you need to do, ask your questions on this forum. And about the answers for the questions that you asked:

1) You can get all the answers for the questions that you asked for I-485 and I-130 in the instructions.

2) I don't think there would be a problem because you typed a form and you didn't for the other forms.

3) It's ok for you to say that you want to visit your parents as a reason for getting AP.

4) It will usually take at least one month and at most 3 months to get AP. So you do the math.

5) I don't really have the answer for the last question. I hope some wiser guy could answer that.

Anyways, you need to be calm and read the instructions very carefully.

Hi mr needy,

I have filed all the forms for GC by myself except the parts where my husband who is American needed to give his signature and needed to gather some documents for the GC applications. I know how frustrating it is to fill out the forms because I have experienced it. But it didn't take me a month to fill out the forms although it took me close to one month to get my medical examinations finished. And I didn't come to this forum but called the National Customer Service Center when I needed some help to fill out the forms.

Anyways, you must know that sometimes a person who asks his/her questions on this forum doesn't make an effort to even read the instructions but use the nice people on this forum to do his/her job. That bothers me. I think the people on this forum is here to help and not to be used. If you can read English and take your time to read the instructions carefully, you don't need to ask some questions that you can find the answers for in the instructions on this forum. I don't want the person who asks his/her questions on this forum to be lazy, you know. And I hope you will understand the differences.

I didn't want to be used. That was why, I didn't answer " most of your questions " because you didn't show that you had made an effort to even take your time to read the instructions very carefully. That bothered me a lot. I'm sorry that I am harsh on you this time. But since you couldn't understand my point, I needed to prove that to you by writing my reasons why I said that in my previous message.

Anyways, I hope you will understand my point and try to make an effort to read the instructions more carefully so people like me don't need to feel that they are here to be used :(

I need to say something

Mr needy:

I don't think you being lazy at all and I just want you to know that not everybody feels the same here, I, mysel worked in immigration legal department of a huge company asa a paralegal for 2 years. doing applications for employment based visas.
Now I'm filing for my parents GC and I DID read the instructions on the forms 29 times, By the way, the forms are not clear in many of their statments and is very much intentional thah way, anyway I did ask something too and I got an answer with a very rude statment (like I was asking something very obvious) ,
Well, number one nobody is forcing anybody to answer so if they feel used they wouldn't have to answer at all. and nunber two I did called CIS and they told me something different from the answer this individual gave me.
You are very much right, I know by expirience if yu got a wrong answer your case is going to be delay so you are right about being very carefull

It's sad to have to feel afraid to ask something, I will be happy to help anybody if I can. When I worked, I was in the other side of the table, I was a paralegal for 150 people and they call me, and emailme constantly even when they didn't supposed to contact me but their recruiter and they have
the same questions over and over
and I always tried to be patiente and answer every doubt they had, I guess not every body is the same

see kanae , they very few on the forum who feel like u!!!!. Its nothing wrong in asking any doubts even if they r silly
for eg when I ask questions on this forum i get exact correct answer of my quetions coz people here have walked this walk before, its only taking me a few days for filing, but u had to take 1 month , calling the ins who dont even cross check what they r saying and the result is that u have to pay the price of what they said.
they r some real good people on this forum who r ready help u or suggest u rather than saying read the instruction!!!!!!!!
lastly here r my suggestions to u ask this forum in future I am sure dont to spend 1 whole month getting frustrated.
help others , wait to be helped when ur time comes!!!!!!!

visa number/NBC FAQ page

I read through the instructions of my wife's I-485 very carefully before submitting it, but I could not find anything that stated the non-immigrant visa number was the red number on the visa. I called USCIS (after seeing these postings) to verify and sure enough, my wife's form was incorrect since we listed the visa control number, not the number in red. Was there an FAQ on the USCIS website I missed?

Also, I found some useful information about filing (also after I sent the packet) on the National Benefits Center page.

http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/nbc/faq.htm

I didn't find any links to the NBC page from the general USCIS FAQ page. Is anyone else aware of the info on the NBC page and if so, how did they navigate to find it?

jsnearline, thank you

it was very helpful of you, in fact reviewin your link it made me realize that the address we sending the application in chicago is just going to give a basic review of it and then forward it to the proper place.

so I have a question now, on form I-130 quotes:

#22 if your relative is in US, while applied for adjustment of status at the USCIS office at---------, (city, sate)

I filed that space saying Chicago, Il,

now I'm confused maybe I have to put
pittsburgh, pa

which is were I live

please help me with this.

do we have to send medical report along with I 485 adjustment packeage or wait till fruther notice??????

That's an interesting question. I ran into that with my wife's I-765 (the e-file version). We selected "National Benfits Center" from the drop down as the place where the application was filed. The file does eventually go to your local office when you have your interview, but NBC does all the processing up to that point. If you already have Chicago on there you might just clarify that it is the Chicago Lockbox to avoid any confusion with the Chicago District Office.

thank you!

Applications sent on 4/6 for both of my parents
officially got in the long ride
keep you guys updated
