Hello All:

When I am coming back into the country with an RTD (Asylee, not LPR) do I go to the visitors' line or Citizens' line ?

Is there anything I need to do before exiting the country ??

Visitor's line. You can stand in the citizen's like and if the IO is ignorant he will let you in, but that is incorrect. You need to be "inspected" and issued a new I-94 at the POE. Even if the visitor's line IO waves you through, remind him about this. (yes, why poke a sleeping tiger, etc etc but its important)

Without the inspection they may have a record of you leaving, but not coming back, and that could be ugly at 485 time.

Which airport?

Thanks for the reply, I think that it will be O'hare. I asked about the I-94 because I have not left the country since I first caame, I don't know where is that I-94 that I was given. Is that an issue or should I get one from USCIS's local office ??
