Coming back into the country I got a lot of additional scrutiny

Ok! I maybe freaking out for no reason but please provide some input so that I can rest my mind at ease. I had always been finger printed for the last two years after coming back from out of the country but this time it was different. The office started asking me a lot more questions like if I had ever been arrested etc. I told him I had been arrested once in 2002 for dUI but the case was dismissed( I had .02 BAC). Since then I have never been in any sort of trouble at all. He said he needs to check additional things a went to the back room and spent what seemed like an eternity. Anyway he let me in saying "welcome to america". Well I am going nuts thinking if I am on some deportation list or something of that sorts. I have to go to Canada in a couple of days so "Any chance they may not let me back in the country". I keep going through these worst case scenarios. Can they deport me for a 2002 arrest where the case was dismissed.

Relaaaaaax brother! I have been through more secondary inspections than Al Capone yet my record is clean! On one occasion I sat in Miami's steamy hot cramped secondary inspection room for a whole hour to the point I missed my connecting flight thanks to beautiful USCIS! I was told secondary inspections are sometimes random for GC holders, sometimes triggered by inconsistencies in answers e.g. say last time you traveled in and out you said you were a student as shown in your passport then this time (after you graduated) you said you were an economist, secondary inspection might be triggered! But in most cases petty criminal records - even those USCIS has documented on your A file for decades are the ones that trigger secondary inspection the most. Your fingerprint just came up as flagged (as a hit) on their databases that's all. Just relax and take it easy and they will process you and release you in no time! All the best.
