My mother-in-law had an appointment this morning at the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka. She has been to the U.S. 3 times in the last 2 years, and have always left the U.S. before her I-94 ran out. U.S. Embassy only issues 1 year visas to Sri Lankan passport holders. Therefore, this is her third visit to the embassy, and as her previous 2 visits were fairly easy, I was expecting the same this time as well. I am on a H1-B visa. The visa officer didn't get very far as he said that my info could not be found on his computer, and denied the application. Was rude, made a statement like that I must be staying and working here illegally, and also that her documents must be forged.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
