I'm planning to go back to college after I get my GC. Can I study on a GC OR will I have to surrender my GC for a student visa?
Thanks!

Hey! at least I admitted it was a dumb question and was not beating around the bush saying "My friend has applied for GC and wants to study after getting his GC................................"![]()

Just wanted to clarify. cause I read a thread couple of months ago wherein someone had to surrender their GC for an F1 visa.
*sigh* we had a huge thread on this a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately there was no satisfactory conclusion. Just a matter of being safe or sorry, and how much you like to take risks or assumed risks. Don't want to spoil this thread by digressing from fpfinally's main question. But the above is a matter of personal choice between you, your lawyer and INS.Originally posted by mango_pickle
would agree that this 6month thing was true before AC21. not now. It just defies all logic.

It is like asking can i give this winning lottery ticket and get few dollars pls....![]()
Anyways I would congratulate that person who surrendered his GC for an F1 visa. There are very few people on this earth who are that insane![]()
