Cogressman or Senator? can someone help?

Hi all,

I have a question... I saw that some of you contacted senators for cases... so i went and found the senators in my area (FLORIDA)... but the offfices are far for me to go to.... I have a congressman (house member) exactly were i live... so can someone tell me what is the differecne between the kind of help i could get from each of their offices?

I believe it doesn't matter, you may contact anyone u like, and it also doesn't matter who live near ur home you may reach them by letter/fax/email and by calling them, they would send/fax you a form to authorize them to contact USCIS/related agency on your behalf.

If you were to contact a senator, make sure to find the contact for "constitutional service" or something like that. Just fax over your details, and make a call to follow up
 
I mailed both senators and 2 congressmen... although from what i read on this forum that Florida Congressmen and senators are not helpful at all :(
 
Call them

Emailing or faxing may not help.

Each congressman/senator gets thousands of emails in a week. They ignore a lot of the emails.

What you have to do is

1. find the phone number of the Congressman/senator's office and call them.
2. Then ask for the person handling immigration issues.
3. Once you get in touch with the person tell him/her your problems. They will be sympathetic to you. (even if they are not able to help)

Tip - During these days of retrogression, if you ask the person handling immigration to check your name check status, he/she will immediately say that due to retrogression, they cant do anything.
So mention up front that you are aware of the retrogression and that you would like to get the name check completed by the time retrogression is over.
(ie - dont give them a chance to bring up the retrogression excuse)
 
Thanks a lot for the advice i will do that after new year cuz i know things are crazy now... and the retrogression issue should not be a prob cuz im EB2 world (not retrogressed yet)
