I went to local INS support office for finger print. When I filled in the form, I wrote my place of birth as P.R. China. The lady who did prints input the CN for P. R. China. When her supervisor (I guess) later checked it again, she change the code from CN to RA. I asked them again and again and they insisted that CN for China (I guess that CN is a broad concept there) and RA for P.R. China. I asked them about the possibility of RC for Republic of China (country name for Taiwan). They insisted that TW is for Taiwan. I could not understand why INS has two different codes CN and RC. It seems to me that CN is commonly used for P.R. China, as domain name in internet.
