Code 2 ? Code 3 ?

I received the Appointment Notices for either I-485 and I-765 yesterday. Now I'm wondering because the one for I-485 has Code 3 and the one for I-765 has Code 2 on it. What does that mean ??

Furthermore, while the Notice for I-485 has an A-# (I'm guessing it stands for Alien-Number, is that right ?) the one for I-765 doesn't show an A-#. What does that mean ??

I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Not exactly true.
My mom's E-filed I-765 had the code 2. They took her digital picture at ASC and just 1 finger print.
Anyhow, those codes do specify different types of services they do.

I did some more research and here what I found out:
Code 1 = All 10 fingerprints
Code 2 = Index fingerprint and photo
Code 3 = All of the above

Is short – do not worry. People at ASC know what they doing and they will take all necessary prints and photos for both forms at the same time.

To expand Jane's post a bit...

ASC code 1 is for your 10 finger fingerprints (called TENPRINTS).
ASC code 2 is Biometrics. Thats your thumbprint, picture and signature. Typically for your I-765
ASC code 3 is for both of the above (consolidated into one). This is typically for your I-485

I feel much better now that I know what it's all about. I really hope they'll process it all in one. I hate sitting someplace for hours.
