Closing down Maine LC processing centers?

Hi,
Sorry for my ignorance... But I heard that USCIS is going to merge all the processing centers into 2 centers. The fast processing centers like Maine will go away by 1st Jan 2005.

Is it true ?

First thing, There are no USCIS Processing Centers in Maine... I think you are talking about Maine State Workforce Agence (SWA/SEA) of Department of Labor.. Is that correct ?

Yes, They are closing down all the SWA/Regional Offices for the purpose of Labor Certification. There will be 2 Nationwide Processing Centers (Chicago & Atlanta) & 2 Backlog Elimination Centers (Dallas & Philly). They did this to streamline the process & equal processing time nationwide.
