City and State Jobs on EAD????

Gurus,
Is it possible to get a full time job in City or State using EAD card/status. If any of you working in City/state jobs (full time, no consulting) using EAD. Do City or State must need Green Card or it can be worked out? Please share your experiences...

EAD is no different than GC for employment purposes except it has a shorter validity period. Certain jobs that require citizenship or security clearance, do not accept GC holders either.
 
Don't tell them your status up front; they're only supposed to ask for specific documentation of your status after making an offer.

Of course, if you're hired you still have to contend with the "same or similar job" issue to maintain your green card eligibility.

I worked for 6 years in a state agency where few of my friend joined as a state employee on EAD.

MA Labor, My attorney is a lazy and commits lot of mistakes. So, can i apply I-485 by myself? I have all copies of Labor and I-140. I am workign under H1b on the 7th year and extended till 5/1/2010.
Should i file I-765 for EAD and why? Please advice me.
