Citizenship waiting time

Hi everybody,

I am a green card holder and I can apply for citizenship in June 2018. So I have some questions

- After I fill the form N400 and send, including the oath ceremony, how long it takes to become a citizen? Whole prosedure...

- I have married with an American citizen... Can I apply with my first green card which has already expired but got a letter that they have continued the date on it? I am asking this cause the new permanent green card is on the way. So can I use this card or have to wait for the permanent card?

The processing time depends on the office that will be processing your application. These days everything is delayed and on average N400 application takes about 5-8 month to be finalized. You don't have to wait for your new green card. You can submit a copy of the old one along with the notice that the new one is on the way.
