Citizenship tru Family Based GC

Hi Guys, I am new to this part of the forum. My girlfriend got her family based GC1 1/2 years ago. I have a friend who told us that she can apply her citizenship 2 1/2 years instead of 5 years if she live here continuously for 2 1/2 years (means not leaving the country). Is this true?

Sorry.. your friend was incorrect. The continuous residence requirement requires you to live in the U.S for at least 21/2 years but she will still have to complete 5 years ( - 90 days) before she can file for Citizenship. Only spouses of U.S.C can file in 3 years ( - 90 days) prior.
