Citizenship refusal for misdemeanor

Can the immigration officer refuse Citizenship for a misdemeanor in the past? Is there a recourse to getting the citizenship? If so, what is it?

There are three types of misdemeanors...Class A, B, and C.
Class C misdemeanors like traffic tickets will usually not affect your citizenship chances unless you have lots of them showing bad moral character....if you have Class A, or B on your record in the past five years....you should contact a good immigration lawyer before applying...
