Citizenship Questions

I have been on GC for last three years. My daughter also has GC. I am planning to send her to India for studies after she gets her citizenship. She may come back to US later, may be after around 10 years.

I have following questions:

1. Can I apply N600 for her at the same time when I apply my N400. Or, will I have to wait till I get my Naturalization Certificate and then apply for her N600.

2. Can my daughter leave US immediately after getting her Naturalization Certificate. Or, is there any requirement of staying in US for certain amount of time after Naturalization before she can leave.

3. Will there be any problem with regards to her citizenship status if she does not come back to US for next 10 years.

Thanks

Thanks JoeF!

Regarding question number 2. I do understand that she will need US passport and probably the PIO card (or some other document as applicable at that time). My concern was regarding the requirement of staying in US after Naturalization. Someone told me that you need to stay in US for atleast one year after Naturalization before you can go to India for good. Is that true ?

While on the topic it would be interesting to see how taking an Indian Citizenship (after you renounce it thru Natz in US) will affect the US Citizenship itself.

Is there legal precedent/consequences/uncertainities for taking another county's CZ's after a person is Natz in the US?

Backgrounder:
I'm a permanent resident in US, migrated in April 18, 2007 through F2B petition (unmarried sons/daughter over 21y/o of Permanent Resident).

From April 18, 2007 till present May 2011 I went out of the country three times, duration are as follows 5 mos, 5 mos and 2 mos a total of 12 mos all in all.

If I count my actual stay in US its only 3 yrs and 1 mo. ( I subtracted the days I went out of the country), but if I count the very first day I entered US without subtracting the days I went out of US I have a total of almost 4yrs and 1 mo.

Questions:
1. A friend of mine told me that I could already apply for naturalization if Im a permanent resident for almost 4 yrs and one day. Does this mean that I could already apply for naturalization anytime?

2. If not then when is the right time for me to apply for naturalization?

3. What will happen if someone submits their paper for naturalization and paid the appropriate fees, after evaluation of the papers NVC/USCIS finds that I have not yet fulfilled the number of days for residency. Will NVC/USCIS
return or refund the fees I paid? Im just concern on this and might not be able to get my money back because I did not qualify for the number of days for residency.

4.Once I become a US Citizen, do I need to file a new petition for my husband or can I just make an adjustment to my pending F2A petition priority date- Nov 16,2010.
Would appreciate if you could give me an idea on how would I go about this.

Your input on this is much appreciated.

1: you'll need to wait for your naturalization before filling N600
2: she can leave the US the day she gets her passport
3: NO

The OP posted the question in 2004. That's 7 years ago. I doubt your answer would be of any use; but thanks for you 2 cents.

Trips that are less 6 months: you have to list them in your application, but they don't affect your continious residence
Trips that are more than 6 months but less than 12 months. this distrupt the continiuos residence...
trips more than 12 months cancel time spent in the usa prior departure

In your case, your trips are less than five months, therefore, you don't need to subtract them from your time here...you need to count the five years from the date you were admitted without subtraction of anything...if it is 5 years then you can apply...good luck
