Citizenship - N-470; Continuous residence

Citiquestion

Registered Users (C)
We obtained our I 485 approval on Jan 2002 qualifying us to apply for the Citizenship on Jan 2007. We have a international contract for 2 years from Feb 2005. Though we will be out for 2 years we would still like to apply for Citizenship on Jan 2007.

(1) Would it be enough for the maintenance of "Continuos Residence for Naturalization ", if we travel to US every 6 months (about 2 weeks at a time) even if we work outside US for 2 years? [ We can maintain our residence, bank account , file taxes in US etc.,]

(2) Would filing N-470 be better ?. N-470 instructions states that the applicant must establish that he has been physically present in the US and residing in the US for an uninterrupted period [ that is without absence whatsoever] for at least one year after lawful admission for Permanent Residence. We have resided in the US all through our Permanent Resident period, however we have made trips outside US every year for at least 15 days for vacation/Business travel. Would we still qualify for applying N-470 ?

Appreciate your response..

JoeF, Rahul ..please give your thoughts on N-470.

Please send your response.. we are pressed to give a response on the offer and are trying to get answers to the above to questions before we do so..

What other proof of residence where you asked for like.. residence in US, bankaccount etc..

How long do we have to stay during these visits every 6 months ???

Thanks
