first of all please explain exactly what the interview consists of?

is this where they give the civics test?

I also wanted to ask about a friend of mine who got the interview letter but they had to reschedule it due to reagan's funeral

he never got any new interview date.

Interview is consist of
1)Civic Test, History and English Test
2)They go through your application with you and make sure about any changes that have happened after you applied
3)this is the time when you can explain any violations of laws you may have done
4) they will check your DL, GC, Passport or any other travel doc, selective service info , some times your tax returns.

Your friend should visit the DO ASAP.

Wow! my interview was also rescheduled because of Reagan's funeral. However I had my interview two weeks after that...
