Citizenship Interview Questions

Hi all,
I got few questions regarding citizenship interviews -

1.Could anyone tell me what books to read or what web sites to
look for US History questions that are generlly asked during the
interview ?

2. Does INS officer take the Green Card after the interview ?

3. My interview is on October 19 in San Jose. I have to go
out of country in November. I do not think I will get the Oath
done before I leave for my trip. Is it OK to travel out of country
after the interview ? What happens if I fail to attend the Oath.
Can I re-schedule the Oath ? How many days does it take to
get the date for Oath after the interview ? Does INS give the
Certificate of Naturalization on the date of Oath ?
Please give some advice on this.

Thanks,
Binny

#1. Enjoylife is right. Download the questions (only 96 of them) from the USCIS website. Memorize all of them.

#2. My GC was taken during the oath ceremony, not during the interview.

#3. I got a next day oath after interview. A fellow oregonian got the same day oath (on the same day of interview.) Of course, some people have to wait for a while (one to several months.) It is really hard to say. But you should be able to re-schedule the time if there is a conflict (there is no telling how long you have to wait for the next oath ceremony though.) You do get a certificate of naturalization during the ceremony.

I posted my interview and oath experience at http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=182058. Take a look. It might help answer some of your questions.

Congratulations Big Cake. I'm hoping my interview will go smoothly and also everyone else.
