Citizenship interview before meeting 5 years requirement

Hi,

I went for my naturalization interview on November 3, passed my test and everything was fine, the officer told me that because I received my interview before meeting the 5 years with the GC, I had to wait for the oath ceremony in the mail. My 5 years were completed 2 weeks ago, and last week I scheduled an infopass and spoke to an officer, he went to the back and check with te officer who interviewed me and said that he will work within that day and the next one on my case and will mail the notice in the mail.

Today, my lawyer went and wanted to ask for my case, and another officer helped him this time, and told him that my case is set to refile, and my lawyer asked him what that means and he said that is set to receive another interview. My lawyer filled out a document over there saying that I should not get another interview because I already went to an interview, passed the test and evrything was fine. The lawyer also said that the officer didn't check my file or went to speak to the officer in charge, just check the computer and probably he is not well aware of the situation.

This got me for surprise because I've been expecting my oath letter in the mail, does anybody ever had a similar experience. I applied 90 days prior to the 5 years and I was not in control of the interview date. I didn't do anything wrong. Please let me hear your experiences...Thank you

Why don't you go to an infopass yourself? And maybe you can speak to the officer that interviewed you? Get the paper that your lawyer got and take that with you.

I did! I also went to an infopass last week before the lawyer went, and the officer at the window took my interview results and went back to see the officer who did my interview and she said was that she will work on my case between that that day and the next one and will just send me the notice (oath) in the mail. but now, another officer at the windows gave a different story to my lawyer. I don't se the point on giving me another interview, if I already passed and applied timely.
