Citizenship changed

My American citizen brother applied to sponsor me in Family 4 category. Waiting period is nearly 8 years. In the meantime my address and citizenship has changed. My brother applied for me as an Indian citizen. I am now a Canadian citizen. Does this help me any how? Can the waiting period be lessened due to this?

It doesn't matter..

My uncle sponsored my mother and my aunt when he became american citizen. My aunt who was Indian citizen at that time later moved to canada and obtained canadian citizenship. Very recently they both got their GCs approved.

So, the answer to your question is, it does not matter whether you have changed your nationality or not. But it does help to keep in touch with the visa center and keep a tap on your case.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice Ahmer123. Just thought of a couple of more questions.

1) Did your aunt have to inform the INS about her change of address and citizenship? In other words, did she have to change her application to reflect her new status?
2) Where did she have to go for her GC interview/processing? To her home country or was it done in Canada?

Thanksonce again.
