Hi All,

I am a former asylee who received my green card under a special law that backdated my card to the date I came this country (see http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=86945.

I have just been approved for citizenship. I just want u guys to know that the interviewing officer went over the immigration history and asked if I travelled back to COP or renewed national passport.

Congratulations to people who are getting their cards now. The end of the stupid 10K cap is wonderful.

Good luck to all.

Viet30025,

Enthusiastic congratulations ! Welcome back and share your experience !

Did you know anyone who was AS6 GC and went back to CoP or renewed NP then was denied CZ ? then re-apply or put into removable proceeding ?

What happened to your NP ? Did IO take a look at it or ask to surrunder it?

How long did the interview last ? When will you take the oath ?

Congrats again !

they do ask that especially if you came from comunist or former comunist country.
enjoy your freedom .
:) :) :)

I think his case was different sicne he got his citizenship early on a special circumstance and on the appplication he had to state why he is applying for citizenship, this is why the officer asked him that question. I firmly believe that most of interview officers either do not have the knowledge of your prior immigration status (before green card) or they simply do not care.
