Citizenship Application. Seperate OR Together?

All - I and my spouse are due for the applying in April 2005.
I need your input....

1. IS there any advantage/dis-advantage of applying seperately?
I mean sending application in seperate package with couple of days apart.
2. Will it effect processing time?

I sent both applications in the same packet. Yes certified return receipt requested was added to the mail. That makes sure that the packet reached USCIS. Each applicant needs a separate application (AND FEE) but both can be sent in the same envelope. I did.
