Hi,
I am us citizen, i sponsored my husband for green card but after getting green card(one month ago he got green card) he has become really abusive.

I want to find out if I leave him, can he still become usa citizen, if yes how??
is there a way i can stop him from becoming usa citizen.
how long its gonna take him to become citizen.

I really appreciate any help.
Thanks

His greencard should be conditional for 2 years. If you leave him in that period, His GC will automatically get revoked as he will not be able to file to remove the conditional thing after 2 yrs. There is no question of him filing for citizenship if there is no GC...

Since you have been married for over 2 yrs, the gc he must have received must not be conditional...

He will be able to apply for US Citizenship . Depending upon the eligibility :

a) If he maintains the GC for 5 yrs

or

b) if he is married to and living with the same US Citizen for 3 yrs.

I sympathize with you but doesnt look like that he can be stopped from processing his N400 eventually.

At this point there is nothing you can do to have his GC revoked or stop him from eventually becoming a US citizen.

If things are bad, I would suggest you look into divorce rather than look for ways of screwing him over.
