Citizen certificate and seal?

Did you apply for expedited passport?

Hi NID, nope just normal processing. I lodged mine at a Post Office and they said they send them out in batches that could be up to two weeks. Mine may have been on the tail end of a batch so it went out almost immediately. Just a guess though.

The last notification I got was on Tuesday and it said 4 to 6 weeks. They send it Priority so that helps with the speed I guess but I am guessing it was sent Monday and the notifications are a few days behind.

There was a notice in the package that said the card and the Certificate apparently will be coming separately. I wonder if they send the Certificate to the card production place after the book people have finished with it.

Yeah, the waiting is hell, but it will get there. :D We have all waited a long time and this is just the tail end, so keep smiling. I read recently where one guy got his non-expedited passport back in about a week.

I also read where another guy did the whole N-400 thing in 85 days. Still, I am happy with my 121 days and passport in 3 weeks. Now that it is almost over and looking back, the waiting did not seem so bad. Hang in there NID.

Now I REALLY want to go somewhere just to be able to stand in the US-Citizen line coming back to my home country. :D :D :D

LOL Brian. Yeah I know what you mean. But I do have to say, it's easy for YOU to say 'hang in there'. You are speaking to someone who's straightforward 1/8th inch thick file should only have taken a few weeks and yet took 366 days to process, and someone who was told they absolutely MUST have a seal on their cert and to someone who paid DOUBLE the price for expedited passport who is still waiting to get it! :p:D

It's ok though, the worst is over, so this is the icing on the cake. The good news is I received my voter registration card so at least that didn't get lost.

See you in the airport line up for US CITIZENS!

Well NID, it is not all good news for me. :) The Certificate came back today and it had been carefully packed flat in a sturdy flat cardboard document envelope. It looked like it had made it almost all the way like that. The mail person had managed to get it through the mail slot by creasing and bending it double Aaaarrrrgggghhhhhhhhh

I have it sitting on the table with some books and weights on it.

When I lodges the application, the Post Office person had stapled the 2nd picture and application to the edge and luckily it is in a dark scroll-patterned area and the holes cannot be seen unless held up to the light. So I guess the Post Office staff are at a wash with one-bad and one-good. :D

I am totally happy with it all anyway. :D

Maybe had you had more controversy in your application they would have run it through faster. LOL That's the price you pay for being perfect; see! :D :D

I think once it gets off the rails, it is hard to slot it back into the smooth running system.
