CIS's denial notice received during grace priod

Hello friends,

I received CIS's denial letter for H1-b petition during 60-days OPT grace period and went back to my home country before OPT grace periold expired.

Was I considered as out of status on the day of the CIS’s denial notice?

Please give me your advice.

No -- as you had an alternate status (OPT grace), H1B denial does not make you out of status. You just didn't enter H1 status, that's all.

Keep complete documentation (envelopes showing dates, all cards, copy of I-94s etc) in case at a future date, they question your prior stay, say at port of entry.
