CIS Processing Dates (Case Status Online)

What is the point of creating an online tracking system if the information is inaccurate?

I know BCIS is trying to improve it's customer service, but why put a tracking system that is inaccurate or is not updated to reflect the correct processing times, doesn't this defeat the purpose and aggravate people even more?

I checked the processing time for N-400 in Newark, NJ (currently June 2003), and there are people who claimed to have recieved their interview letter with PD of 12/10/03. I wonder if it serves a different purpose, i.e track immigrants?

Any views, also did you sign up online?

My comment on this:
I think the processing date on the USCIS website reflects that ALL cases prior to that date have been processed, and they are now processing cases with priority dates on or after the published date.

Do we know that is indeed the date before which ALL cases have been processed? I recently posted a question to this group about the reliability of the date and I was told it is notoriously unreliable. But if it is indeed correct, it is heartening to hear that. The office I am interested in is processsing for Dec-Jan timeframe. So does that mean there is a good chance most application at this office will be processed within 6-7 months?
