Hi ciba,

I have not received my finger printing notice yet .My I485 ND is 11/2000.I got my EAD AND AP .I was talking to an IIO today and he said that my case is ready to be adjudicated .It is assigned to an officer .I dont understand this .I have not received the Finger printing notice yet and how is my case ready to be adjudicated.

How do you understand the whole process of issuing the finger printing notice ?
when do we say that the case is ready for adjudication?
When is the case assigned to an officer? before finger printing or after finger printing?

I will be thankful if you or any body else can answer my questions.

Sajan,

If your case is really assigned and you have not received finger print
notice, it spells trouble, because your case can never be adjudicated
until you complete finger print process.

You should try to get a finger print notice as soon as possible (before
the examiner gets to your case). Aniruddha posted a nice message
about how to file a request form for finger print notice. You can either
do that, or go to your local INS office to get one.

Hi Ciba,

As per your suggestions i had written to INS about me not getting the finger printing notice on the same form on which Aniruddha wrote .I have received a reply from INS saying that my case is still pending and i will be scheduled for fingerprinting at a particular fingerprinting office in my area ( but when? no details are given).

Actually i was talking to an IIO last week and asked the IIO about my case the IIO said that my case is assigned to an officer ,but as you know i still have no finger printing notice .I told this to the IIO and also asked her if finger printing notice is issued first and then the file is assigned to the officer .She said this is not fixed sometimes the file is assigned to the officer first and the officer will then issue the finger printing notice .

I am really confused now .i dont know what to do .please ADVICE .

Which form can be used to request finger printing notice? I have ND of early February
but have not received the FP notice. Also, what is the procedure of going to the local INS office for FP notice?

sanjan and zap,

According to past practices, CSC appears to send out whole bunch
of finger print notices in batch when they "think" they are about
to clear out cases that have been taken out for adjudication.
You guys must have missed the oportunity of the previous batch.

If sending the form does not work, go to the INS office near you
to request one there.
