My ND for I-485 (AOS) was October 20th, 2000 (same as my AP and EAD).
I received my AP and EAD timely. However, I did not receive my
FP notice. I tried to call IIO at CSC and was not lucky enough
to get through even for a single time. At the beginning of March,
I ran out of patience. (I thought my FP notice might have been
lost in mail or misplaced). I went to local INS office at
Reno. My intension was to convince them and do the FP right at
that moment (without a FP notice). Obviously, they declined.
However, the officer gave me a form to launch a formal Inquiry
for my FP notice. The form is G-731C (Rev. 10/06/99). The page
one of the form is for General Inquiry and the page two of the
form is for Inquiry regarding Permanent Resident Card, I-551.
I filled out the page one of the form. There is a column on
Type of Inquiry. I checked the "other" column and wrote a small
note by the side of it. I wrote "I have not received Finger Print
notice yet". I mailed that with a self addressed stamped envelope.
With in four days I received the formal reply from INS CSC. (It was
not the Inquiry form that I sent them.) It said my I-485 application
was pending. In the other section it said "If you did not receive
the Finger Print Notification due to your change of address or other reasons, you may have your fingerprints taken at a local INS
Application Support Center (ASC) within hours of operation. .....
You must bring with you this letter and ...... ( align registration
card or Photo ID)." From that point everything went as expected.
By the way, I received my approval after 14 days of my Finger
Print.
Ciba, do you want to me add anything else?
