Me and my wife got interim EAD from Sacramento local office yesterday 8/20.My RD is 5/18 and ND is 7/18. So I figured that my 90 days are over from 5/18. However when I checked the AVM, it said that your application was received on 7/18 and it is taking about 120-150 for such application.
Based on this information I thought that they will calculate the 90 days from the 7/18 date, which is my ND. But I have seen several cases that for which iEAD was approved based on RD.
Well, I thought there was no harm giving it a try. So on 8/20 me and my wife went to the Sacramento INS for iEAD. When our turn came, the IIO at the window said that the iEAD cannot be issued because the 90 day period was not over. Their system showed only one date and that was my ND. She refused to give us the iEAD and asked us to come after 10/18/2001 to get the iEAD. We insisted that the 90 days were counted from RD and not ND. I showed her the dates on my receipt notice. After much persuasion she agreed to talk to her supervisor. After about 5 minutes of agonizing wait, she came back to us saying that she is gonna approve our iEADs for 240 days.
She then asked us to go to another room and get our pictures taken and soon we got our iEADs.
Ciba and Carter Yen, can you please update this information. Thanks a bunch for your great work.
