Ciba, Can We start work after EAD approval?

Hi Ciba,
Can we start work without actual EAD card. I have my EAD approved on 05/30, ND 03/30. Or can we get SSN with out the card? Can we just fill in I-9 form and work?

My friend said that she joined the job before getting the actual card. After she got the card she showed it to her employer.

180 days into 485 processing?

Are all you guys assuming that your 485\'s are not approved yet and you\'re 180 days into 485 processing?

AVM only tells you your EAD card is approved, but you still don\'t know what is the starting date shown on EAD card. I would think it\'s safer to just go get an interim card.

I heard that if the AVM says EAD card approved then the local INS office
will not grant you interim EAD. Is this really true?

My EAD was approved on 6/1 from AVM, but AMV said that it takes 120-140 days to get the card. Do I have a chance to obtain an interim EAD from local office (San Jose) right now? RD: 4/3, ND: 4/23. Thanks

According to a previous post in this list, you could start working and you have 90 days time to show the ead card to the employer.

I am hoping this is true...
My EAD details: ND: 04/16: AD: 05/29, waiting for card.
