Hi, guys, I have read a lot about efiling and want to learn more about you guys' REAL experiences. The most important question I need answer for is "Is your Priority Date (PD) the same as the EFILE date (electronic 140 form submission date)?" I would really appreciate if you can check your 140 approval notice and your original 140 receipt notice and share the information. ChrisV, I know your case has been approved, could you please share? I am kind of terrified by one post in another forum that says his PD is the delivery date of his supporting materials, because in my case, it is impossible to get everything ready by 7/31. Many thanks.

Hi!

- The receipt notice (I-797) I got from USCIS following the e-filing is dated on my e-filing date, but has NO priority date on it.
- The Approval Notice has as priority date the date I e-filed the I-140, not the date at which they received the complementary documentation.

To summarize the dates:
26 June: e-filing = Receipt date = Piority date on the Approval Notice
28 June: doc. sent
05 July: doc. received
13 July: Notice date

So, this is good news for you. Be careful to make sure your evidence will reach them in time though!

Chris

Receipt number = case number

This may be a stupid question !

I have e-filed I-140 yesterday and got a BCIS receipt #. Is it my case number too?

Just wanted to make sure as sometimes similar "terms" are so different in meaning.

Thanks a lot.

Yep e-file date is PD

Do I have to check i485 box (applying for i485 etc) in my i140 to take advantage of current situation or I can send my i485 application separately until Aug 17 using e file receipt. I am filing today please help.
