child will be born before interview

Hi everybody

My CN is AS00017XXX
I'm from Iran so I chose to go to another country's consulate for the interview.
I guess my interview would be scheduled on April
Now there are 2 of us. My wife and I. But my wife is pregnant and our child will be born probably on April too.
There are two questions:
1. If I have my son before interview, does it change anything. Am I going to tell about this birth to KCC or to the consulate? and is there any possibility that this birth change my case progress in a bad way?
2. It is possible, that my wife can't go to another country for interview in the scheduled time(cause of pregnancy problems). Should I reschedule the interview or can I do the processing steps myself without my wife and probably my son?

I'm looking forward to hear from all of you.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi amirmb,

congratulations :)

As far as I know, if you haven't yet been scheduled for an interview, you notify KCC of any change to family ie child being born. If you receive notification of the interview, then you advise the consulate of the change.
You'd have to fill out a DS-230 for the child and provide a birth certificate. I myself have just notified KCC of a change in marital status.

Also, I believe you are able to postpone the interview. I suppose it depends which consulate you chose and how busy they are, but from what other people have said, most consulates allow for say a one or two month postponement. You do however have to bear in mind that if you postpone it for too long, you may not get the visa by sept 30.

Have a search of the forum for other similar posts, I'm sure you'll find your answers :)

Dear ancatdubh
I wrote an email to KCC, but they didn't answer anything special. I guess they answered like this because my status hasn't been changed yet. Or maybe I sould wrote to them and they don't get information by email. but they didn't tell me to post anything to them.
You said I should complete a DS-230 form for my child after born . should I post it to KCC or I should just take it to my interview?
thanks

Dear Amir,

According to your case number, you case will be current for May or June. If your newborn will join you in April then you have time to fill in forms DS-230 part I and II for him/her and DHL them to KCC (You first should get the Shenasnameh and Passport and then fill in the forms to avoid any mismatch between names). Remember that KCC will arrange the consular appointment for you, so you should send the forms to KCC as quickly as you can (DHL).

I do not recommend to postpone your interview because background check usually takes a long time and no visa will be issued after midnight 30th September.

Your child birth would not affect your case.

If you had any question post it here.

Dear Amir,

What I would advise u to do is wait till ur child is born, if by then u have not been schedule for interview, u shud then fill form DS230 part I and II for ur child and send it to KCC. If u have been schedule for interview b4 ur child is born and ur child has been born b4 ur interview then go to the interview with ur child together with proof that the child is urs.

About if u shud postpone ur interview, pls dont do that bcos there may not be any visa after postponing ur interview, what u shud do is contact the embassy when ur interview has been schedule and tell them that u are suppose to attend the interview with ur wife but bcos of her condition she wont be able to attend with u. They will tell u to come for the interview alone since u're the primary applicant and if ur interview is successful they can then process ur wife interview whenever she is ready.
