HELLO, I wanted some info from people who have aquired naturalization for children below 12 years. Myself & my wife are eligible for naturalization now and are in the process of applying for naturalization. We have a 12 year old daughter who is also eligible. Should we file form N-600 with our application or does she automatically get citizen ship when our application is approved?. I would greatly appreciate any advice from people who have gone through the process.

Thanks
Arun

Once one of you is naturalized and your child is a permanent resident under 18, she becomes a citizen automatically. Then you can file N-600 to get a Naturalization Certificate for your daughter.

Arun - You should file for your daughters US passport when you file yours after your N-400 oath ceremony. Once you get her passport she can travel as a USC, while the N-600 is being processed. Good luck.
