Yippee!
Got our passports stamped today at the Chicago INS. Left home at 5:30 in the morning; Reached the INS center a little after 6 am. Stood in the bitter cold for about an hour. There were about 35-40 people ahead of us. Doors opened at 7 am. Some instructions were given by a friendly INS person to all the folks who got into the door in the first batch. All with 485 approvals were asked to stand in a separate line.

Went through security to Room 100. There were about a dozen people ahead of us for stamping. When our turn came, we presented the necessary documents (approval notice, passport, photos, EADs) The process just took 5 minutes. We were finger printed and our passports were stamped. We were out of the building by 7:50 a.m. No questions asked.

My recommendation - Go early and you will return early!

Good Luck to All.
