My father in law (almost 80 years old) is holding a green card. He came to the US in mid 2020 with an immigration visa, then went back to his own country after getting the green card at the same year. He hasn't put foot in the US for 4 years now and he is coming next week (he has some paperwork from his doctor on why he couldn't travel during those prior years).
I am aware of the law and the risks as he may be considered abandoned his status by now, yet I know other seniors in similar situations who entered the country without an issue (EWR and JFK airports).
My FIL however will be entering through Chicago O'hare airport.
The question is: How is the immigration officers in there? Anyone with similar experience?
