Hai!

My wife recently got a H4 denial at Chennai consulate. I have been trying to track someone who have recently got a visa after original refusal on the grounds of 'Admin Processing'.

I have managed to track down atleast 06 people who are in a similar situation , they have been waiting for a atleast 06 months. Infact even 02 H1 extensions are stuck in India, I think their fate is even worse....they just have to wait becoz chennai consulate website states clearly that they won't respond to any queries if the case is in 'Admin processing'...you have to wait for them to contact you...

ANYONE WHO READS THIS PLEEEEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS GOT OUT OF A SIMILAR SITUATION.

THERE IS CHENNAI_CONSULATE YAHOO GROUP.....PLEASE CHECK THIS GROUP.

PLEASE TRY TO AVOID GETTING VISA STAMPED IN CHENNAI UNTIL YOU DON"T HAVE ANY OPTIONS....THERE IS SIMPLY NO LOGIC IN THIS MADNESS....THEY DON'T GIVE A REASON ....THEY SIMPLY SAY ADMIN/INTERNAL PROCESS.

YOU CAN CHECK UP MY ORGINAL POSTING (guttius).
You can mail me at guttius@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Uday

ttservices is just a travelagency which collects your documents and gives it to bluedart couriers. They don't have any knowledge about what happens in the consulate....you call them they will confuse you and finally give you the customer service phone numbers to chennai consulate. This service makes the consulate's work easy it does'nt help us in any way. As far as my knoledge goes you can't apply directly to the consulate for H1 / H4 visas you have to use the 'dropbox'

What I am trying to say is if you have a job/car/ family in U.S. please do not take a chance at the chennai consulate. These are some of the procedures which they implemented post sept 11 and they are getting implemented now....the immigration attorneys also do not have much idea about these new procedures. Only the consular officer knows and the law is such that even if you use a attorney the consular officer need not give a reason.

I spoke to a couple of attorneys and they are under the impression that the consulate people have a database of previuosly refused visas and they run your name/passport number against this and even if there is a slight hit on profile/name etc they put it under 'Admin Processing' which may take anything between 06 months to 1 year. I heard that these cases are sent to a Washington D.C. for clearance thereby the delay.

But I still can't understand why they do this to H4s.... My wife is applying for the first time for any foreign visa.
