I have been working in U.S for the past 5+ years and have to visit India unexpectedly. I have to get my Visa stamping when in India. But, both emergency and regular appointments in the Chennai consulate vfs-usa.co.in website are not available in July (That's when I would like to visit India). I currently have an appt booked from earlier days on August 10. But need an appt. in Mid july owing to work issues and my travel dates.

Your valuable insight appreciated.

Can we book appointments in VFS website out of our State of residence and is that allowed? Delhi had appointments in April 2006 available. How is the State of residence applicable to people working in the U.S for the past few years? Can we book emergency appt. anywhere else? - Delhi etc even if don't have a local contact

Since you are not getting the appointment dates in India, you can try to visit Canada to get it stamped.

I did the same thing last week. I went to Toronto for stamping and got that stamped without any hassles.

Go to VFS site and check the dates for toronto.

Note: Everyday morning EST around 7-9am, they post the appointment dates on the VFS site, so please check during those hours and keep refreshing the site to get the latest updates.

Also, you gotto take Canada visitors visa, which you can get on same day you apply for it.

Lemme know, if you still need any info. (raj796@yahoo.com)

H4 Visa Stamping

My Cousin is getting married and from Andhra Pradesh. She needs to go for H4 Visa stamping. The questions I have is:1)Can she go other than Chennai 2) If so how?

I dont think you can simply choose any of the consulates as you like. They will allocate the specific consulate office and you need to go to the same.

For Andhra Pradesh, you need to go to Chennai only.
