I am in the final stages of the green card application and am awaiting packet 4. Howver there are some documents that I do not have. My birth was not registered at Corporation of Chennai. I was born in the 1931 and no family member capable of giving an affidavit is alive. I have my school leaving certificate which indicates my date of birth.
Can someone help me with information on how to obtain a valid document post a reply?
Also, my marriage occured in 1962 and was conducted according to Hindu rites. The marriage was not registered. My passport shows the name of my wife as does her passport show mine. I have photos of my wedding, and can get affidavits from two relatives who were present at the marriage. Would the affidavits qualify as valid documents, or is there a way of getting official confirmation from the registrar. What is the procedure to be followed?
