Cheer up and be positive, my fellow immigrants!

As a potential immigrant waiting for my 485, I understand perfectly how it feels to wait for a long time for that piece of paper with a word "approved". But this is our willing choice to move here. We come here to seek for a better life for ourselves or our children. Waiting is painful, but it is a small price to pay before we can make longer plan in life.

I saw many people who are so depressed that even the final good news of approval can not even cheer them up. Many people who are still waiting, like myself, become so frustrated that they turn their anger to other fellow immigrants or INS staff or US as a whole.

What I wanted to say is that the quality of our life is more important than anything else. This piece of plastic card does not worth the anger and anxiety, although the life is not quite as convenient if we don\'t have it. I wish everyone enjoy what we have right now and live a happy and peaceful life with our friends and family.

For those who finally got your green card status, it\'s a great news and you should treat you and your family with a vacation or at least a good meal in a fine resturant. You deserve it!

Finally, I want thank the owner of this wonderful website which gives us a forum to exchange information and encouragement.

Shef Chang,

Thanks for your message. I echo the same sentiments. It is important to focus on this process but having totally lost interest in every other thing and becoming short tempered is quite unnecessary. I do believe it is a privilege to receive the card and you all should treat yourself and your family when you get it.

Good luck to you all.
