HI,

I was naturalized a few weeks back. What is the list of things that I need to do now? I have already received my US passport. I searched the forums and couldnt find a definitive list. AFAIK, this is the list

1. Register to vote.
2. Change status with SS administration.
3. Register with state dept if travelling outside US.

Thanks in advance

the first 2 makes sense, whats the third one register ... i thought its always like get a visa to to the foreign country if needed, buy the flight ticket, pack your bags and go ? could you provide more info abt this registration ?

You should also apply for a U.S. passport and, after getting it, file a new I-9 form with your employer, updating your status there from a green card holder to a U.S. Ctizen. Employers do get audited for I-9 compliance from time to time, and, more importantly, the use of the E-Verify system is becoming more and more common and is fairly likely to become mandatory soon. Any kind of a discrepancy between the E-verify records and the I-9 records is eventually going to cause some problems even if that discrepancy is about LPR vs U.S. citizen status. So it is a good idea to update your I-9 as soon as you get a US passport. Note that a naturaliztion certificate is not an acceptable document for I-9 purposes.

Notify Employer

Another thing is to notify your employer and get them to change your I-9 to citizen as well.
