FYI
I just checked my status using NSC 1-800-375-5283 number and realized that it is giving exact status that is available on-line! Note that the disconnected CSC AVM (1-949-831-8427) use to give a bit more upto date info than online! It use to directly access BCIS CLAIMS system to give latest info where as online system use to take some time to sync up.

Regarding my case CSC AVM use to give a bit more latest message "...2nd FP received and processing resumed" where as the online system is still giving old message "...RFE received". Now this NSC 800 number system is playing "...RFE received" message.

As per following news article they are disconnected! I didn't try calling either (Don't wanted to waste my 5c - 20c).

06/10/2003: Termination of Service Center Telephone Inquiry Numbers

The four Service Centers terminated their phone status inquiry lines as of today. All the phone inquiries are accepted only by the National Consumer Service Center line of 800-375-5283.

BCIS Notice: Case Status via the NCSC 800 Number
The BCIS recently opened Case Status online letting customers with applications at a BCIS Service Center conveniently check the status of their case over the internet. As a next step in improving service customers can also call 1-800-375-5283 toll-free for automated case status assistance on Service Center filed cases. This new number replaces the toll numbers previously used on receipt notices (Service Center numbers). This system is an automated replacement of the Service Center automated case status system. Just follow the telephone menu directions.
Even if you use our website to get case status, we recommend that you call if you move while your application is pending at one of our Service Centers, or if you don’t hear from BCIS within the processing time we projected on your receipt notice, or if you have other questions about case processing.

Not too long ago, INS started online status check system, but apparently the online status check system is not being updated adequately and has started advising people to call the 800 number for the inquiries. It is too bad that the online status check system is fading away.

Maybe this is strange but for me the AVM used to give the exact same message as the online message. Exactly the same. No up to date info for me ever.

When you call the old number it asks you to call the new 1800 number. When I tried that new number, it exactly said the same online status that your application has been approved blah, blah. But the new voice messaging system bit too verbose and it speaks a lot of known things and takes time for each step. You need patience to deal with this new automatic answering system.

Best of Luck

I called CSC 949-831-8427 number a few days back it says the number is disconnected and call 800-375- blah blah to get more information. I did not call NSC number.

What ever at this lathargic pace of BCIS/INS can we ever get GC at all.

One more thing I am planning to contribute some campaign money to democratic party in the states where they lost the electrol college votes, so that I am doing my part to support democrats(It may help them swing the crucial states). Republicans already have a lot of money power with them(and do no good to us except for waging wars).

I wont contribute any campaign money to the state of California democratic party, since it is a democratic state and I hate Grey Davis.

This is what I will be doing, I just want to share it with my fellow BCIS/INS victims.
