Checking Case Status

Hi,

We (mine and my wife's) mailed our application to Vermont on 08/03/07. Our checks got encashed last week and I got the ESC # from the encashed check. However the case # is of type ESC00XXXXXXXVTXXXXX. When I enter the first 13 characters, it ends with the letter V. Can somebody let me know whether the case # mentioned in the check is correct or do I have to wait for the actual FP notice to get the case #.

I suggest you wait for your actual receipt. You mailed you applications on 8/3/07 (you mean August 3) or you wanted to mean 3/8/07 (March 8?)
Is your DO Boston?
 
Perhaps you need to enter ESC* and then the numbers you got from the check. However, as it takes a few days for the status to show online, you most likely will receive the notice of action around the time the case shows up online.

My 2 cents.
 
I would second what Tamarig said. Wait until you get the notice of receipt. There is no point in getting frustrated over the whole thing because you still a little while to go - obviously assuming you mailed on 3/08/07 as 8/03/07 is still future:eek:.

Sorry for the mistake, its actually 3/8/07 and not 8/3/07. I did try the ESC* option and it said the receipt # cannot be found. As suggested, will wait for the actual receipt letter for the same.

Got FP Notices

Hi,

On Saturday, we (myself and wife) got our FP notices for 04/03/07. But we are planning to do the FP this friday 03/30/07.

DO- Pittsburgh
Receipt Date - 03/09/07
Notice Date - 03/09/07
Notice Received (FP/NOA) - 03/23/07
FP Date as per FP Notice - 04/03/07
Interview - ??
Oath - ??

Just curious, is ESC # on the front of the check accurate? I am still waitingon my notice of action, so just curious.
 
Website to check status online

Hi

I was going through USCIS website, they had mentioned about checking status online and over the phone. I was able to get the phone number, but unable to find the link (url) to check the N-400 status. Is there a url to check the status online?

I word of caution fabout the online status - don't always believe it. My case still says pending at VSC and I have my oath last week.......
