I recd a letter from BCIS, after making a status querry, exactly on 30th day. It says

" The Processing of your petition/application has been delayed. We are awaiting further information from another office to assist us in the final adjudication of this case. As soon as this information is recieved, processing will continue on this case "

1) Has anyone recieved this kind of reply.

2) Does anyone has any idea what it means

Thanks guys

Peter123, nice to hear from u after quiet a long time, I also recvd a reply exactly after 24th day of my status query, it said it would take another 90-150 days to reach my case. Remember I contacted my senator twice and both the time they said it would take another 60 days to reach my case. Also please note senator office confirmed that 3rd FpP was a mistake and that BCIS is all messed up.

how does state dept work faster

dont they require all these security checks when one goes for CP.
People who got 140 approved in June 2003 and then went for CP have already been approved.
Why is CIS dragging its feet on the same issues..

I understand Peter is going through AOS, not CP. In addition, there may be a different set of security checks for approving AOS, not speaking of the possibility that new secrity checks may have been introduced since.

Anyway, USCIS seems to be telling Peter that his security checks have not been completed and, consequently, his case is out of their hands until they are.

Thanks guys for your replies, I am AOS case and not CP.

To me it looks like its not just the security check, But our files probably goes thru their various internal offices.

It could be that there work is split amongst different offices and they are waiting response from other office.

Now the question is what are these other offices and their roles

Does anyone has any idea for the internal steps they go thru, which, for us, could be unknown.

Thinking about what is the next step to be taken.

Lovensing: I recd the letter in mail

I understood correctly

I knew peter is going through aos like all of us.
To me there is no difference between the security requirements for someone going through AOS or CP. all need to be checked for potential problems.
That said, I was wondering why the state department is so efficient in issuing immigrant visas whereas people are waiting in long lines for the AOS. some people who have been interviewed are also waiting for ages for their checks?.
well i guess the adjudicators do not want productivity because they take years to decide on cases and all the time want you to be in the same job, earning same salary etc etc. any hardworking person will have a hard time convincing their bosses not to promote them or not to give them additional job duties
sorry for venting it out. Just frustrated.

I wonder whether BCIS really looks into the case when we send the status querry. Or they just have the standard reply format.

Peter123,
Finally you arrived at the right opinion. They need to send you some answer. They might have some dozen templates and the officer has selected this particular template.

You are right. The whole thing about Status querry is """""absurd"""""

THese people have really made a fool of us.

It got to stop and i think 2004 will be the year things will change.

We are all on the unfortunate side.

End of Next year they will make it current.
