Changing the Visa Status while waiting for the decision !! is that possible ?

Hello everybody ,

i have a question please, i had my interview couple of days ago and it was terrible, although i have a Super case, i am afraid they denied but anyway , my question is :
I AM LEGAL ON A STATUS " B2 " , CAN I CHANGE MY VISA STATUS TO " J1 " DURING WAITING THE DECISION?

is it possible to transfer to another visa before the decision ? or after it ?

it was terrible because i had a translation problems , and the officer was mad because the interpreter wasn't good and the monitor corrected to him many times , the officer was tough and i was nervous and upset and afraid of giving answers ... i dont know , it was so bad , even my case is very good
 
Actually "after or before decision" is not the issue, you should transfer before your B2 status expiry date.
you can Google about it or ask a lawyer to make sure, what I wrote is just my opinion.

changing the status is not good to me because of my case " i cant go back to syria " , But if the decision was No , it would be a disaster , i will wait the decision ,, thank you for your nice words ..

I'm sorry for your bad experience in your interview! It's kind of weird question, but sometimes it does matter! Was your officer an old man? or young?
 
Peter , your interview was in Chicago right ? on January ? didnt you receive a decision yet ? didnt you call them to ask about that ? it seems we are in the same boat
 
Like i said before, if you didnt get a denial letter after a week or ten days, it means, probably that your case was approved...AND you are from Syria, they all know the mess there!
You can change visa status BUT you need to leave the country to change it.
