Whoever is in Georgia, make sure to vote this yahoo Rep. Nathan Deal out of the office. I guess some people just don't learn that going anti-immigrant is what Nazzis did to come to power in the 1930's. Great example was former Gov. Pete Wilson in California, trying to come down heavy on the Hispanic immigrants as his political platrofm here in mid 1990's but instead lost to Gray Davis when all Hispanics went after him. (The idiot miscalculated that the majority of the population in California are Hispanics, dahh!)

I do not favor legitimizing illegal immigrants by allowing them to sneak over the border and give birth in the US. It's a loophole that needs to be closed.

Everyone in this group is trying hard to play by the rules. This has been a 9 year journey for me personally, and it's been a long struggle with complying with the law. I felt so strongly about complying with the law that I stayed at home and give up my job when the INS messed up my work card by thier wn negligence. I gave up on family weddings in my home country so as not to abandon my Green Card application. I nearly missed my own mother's funeral because going would have meant leaving my new life and new family (the INS came through at the last minute with a parole doc).

Don't stand there and tell me that all that struggle was for nothing.

Even though I am not a US citizen, I strongly recommend US constitutional amendment that will allow granting citizenship ONLY to the children of US citizens and legal permanent residents.

Who are you kidding???

What makes you think that this legislation is only going to end with illegal immigrants??? EVERY immigrant would be affected by this. Illegal immigrants are a very small number of people presenting this problem. If you are on any type of legal visa here or waiting for adjustment of status and you have a baby born here in the meantime, you would be affected by this too. Then after you fought for 9 years for your citizenship you will end up waiting for another 9 years for your kids to become citizens??? Is this what you want?

Why are the toughest beuracrats in any immigration services are those who were recent immigrants themselves?

It's not going to happen. Birth associate citizenship only makes sense in a country like Germany that defines "German" by BLOOD LINE. America is the land of immigrants. Children have the RIGHT to citizenship where they are born. This is not about the parents and their decision-making, this is about the CHILDREN.

Huh? Why is that a loophole? Giving birth in the US does not "legitimize" an illegal immigrant. The illegal immigrant stays illegal.

Do you think the INS should deport the illegal alient mother of a US citizen who is too young to live without it's mother?

You obviously are a bit new to politics.

If you would like this discussion to continue then I suggest that you not be so condescending as to automatically assume that disgreement is a product of inexperience.

You don't have to be in Georgia or vote to make changes happen. You can send in contribution dollars to his opponent at the next election.
