Changing status from OPT to H-1

I am currently on OPT and my OPT experation is july/15/2007, I am also currently working. Come April 2007, I will be applying for h-1. I know that even if I get approved, my status will not change untill october 1st. Also the grace period will expire on September 15 2007. Meaning I will have a time where I will be illegal for 15 days? I certainly do not want to return to my country. Can I stay here in those 15 days? What are the circumstances? Would I loose my potential visa due to that 15 day?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?
 
H1 status problem

hi, i am i exact situation as you have. my OPT will expire next may 07 . i got job before quota was over but unfortunately i didnt file the H1. now my company will file my H1 next april 07 and transfer me to india branch for 5 to 6 months. so wht you will suggest me ? can i go to india and work with the company there or go for school and stay here till OCT ? is it possible to come back from india after doing job there? wht are the chances to get H1 stamed there? please reply me to solve this issue.

GOT study

same case as you'll my opt got over on 17th july 2006. So legally I an ILLEGal if i stay here till 1 oct 06. My lawyer suggested me to go to an school for that time. I took up an advance cource in the same uni as i was before for 1 year. My company has already applied for my H1 and i have the reciept no.

Basiclly you need a new I20 or go back to India

My OPT expires on June 26, 2007

Hi

I am also in the same situation. My OPT expires June 26 next year. even after 60 day grace period, which ends on August 26, I have more than a month gap before my H1 starts. So can i stay in US for that one month. What is the solution for this? Please reply to this.
