Hi,
Can anybody help me with my situation?
I am in an F-1 (D/S) status (English Second Language Courses). I found a job at a university some monthes ago, and the university filled a petition om my behalf about changing my status from F-1 to H-1B. In January 2006 the university received a receipt notice from INS that I can start working from April 17, 2006.
My questions are:
1. Can I stop studying at the ESL courses on March 2, 2006 and just wait for the moment (April 17, 2006) when I start working? Will I be in a "valid status" in the US between these two dates: March 2, 2006 and April 17, 2006?
2. Do I have a so called "60-day grace period" for F-visa status holders when I finish the ESL courses on March 2, 2006?
I would appreciate any help. Thank you!
Elena
