I received my I-485 approval notice today and this is through my wife's process. My GC was still in LC stage and I understand that I dont have to care about it anymore.
Her company gave her someone's approved LC (maybe because that person quit) and we did concurrent filing of I-140 and 485 on May 3 2004 and received approval notice today July 1 2004!! We are extremely surprised and very happy that it happened so fast! This is in California.
Now my Q is:
I have been planning to move to where my wife is and hence looking for a job there and even got an offer. I am ready to take it and was getting set to file my H1-B transfer. Now I dont need an H1 anymore? Is it advisable to change jobs immediately after getting the stamp next week? Will there be any problems. I looked at the other questions posted here, but it was only dealing with the person who applied for GC through his employer leaving his company but not a dependent.
Both my wife and I will be moving into a new place and hence have to file a change of address to the INS/BCIS. Will there be any issues then for getting my plastic card?
Thanks!!
