Changing Jobs after GC Approval

I've read the previous posts about changing jobs, but still want to ask it again.

By definition of permanent residency, it is permanent. There are no permanent jobs, but the residency is permanent. There was a notice that comes with the card saying you are still PR status even if you don't renew your card...what does that mean.

For changing jobs after GC, is there any confirmed cases of it causing trouble years later for renewal or citizenship?

It means that the card expires, your PR status does not. Just like your passport can expire but you do not lose citizenship because of that.
