Changing Job

Hi,

I got laidoff after 7 months of filing for 485(filed in CA). Now I am getting a job in NJ.

In order to work in NJ, do I need to inform INS about the job change?

Also, do I need to INS about addr change? (My wife will be here in CA only)

Your answers are appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming you have EAD...

you can work anywhere. But since you have changed your job it is better to let the INS know that you have changed job to a SIMILAR job . So keep an employment letter/ job offer letter ready from the new employer. If you get your 485 approved without any rfe from the INS you are in the clear but generally it is a good idea to let the INS know, and use a Lawyer to frame the job change/new offer letter in a format that the INS wants and likes.

The whole problem arises if the INS requires pay stubs ...docs that are employer related, so even though your address is in CA your paystub might reflect NJ location. Better to inform, since you changed after 7 months you have nothing to fear.

Do we need to inform the address change to INS?

Do I need to inform INS on address change, if I change from Company A (located in San Jose) to Company B (located in San Jose) after applied 485 and completed 8 months (No change in Residence address)?
