Changing eomployer...necessary steps...

485 is approved on OCt22 and reaceived GCand thought of changing employer.
My wife's case is still pending and we moved from CT to newjersey. We updated the changeof address to INS On Jan4th, 2005. I did not get any confirmation of address change.
My Lawyer will not support me If I change my employer.

So Before I leave my employer, Shall I chnage my Lawyer or As it is 485, Am I going to get all the information regarding my wife's case?

Pleae advise me how to proceed in this situation. Is it safe to leave eomplyer If spouse's caseis pending?

My opinion

This is my opinion and I am not a lawyer !!!!

If you are the primary applicant, changing of your job should not have any effect on your wife's 485 application. It should be approved as a normal case. I would not worry about changing any new lawyers unless you get any RFE and even then depends on the RFE. After you change your employer, your lawyer will send a letter to INS stating that he/she is no longer representing you and that is normal too. Anyways you get all the communication directly to you as well as the lawyer, if there is one.

I changed jobs during my GC approval process. My new company attorney agreed to represent me although I suggested it was not necessary. In fact my new company insisted that they follow up on my case since it was delayed too long. They also represented my wife as part of my representation. But INS never updated their records until I got my GC although the previous attorney sent a non-representation letter and the new attorney sent an updated G-28. I got all the communication in my mail.

This is my experience and my thoughts. Do what you think is best.

Good Luck !
